A Subway located in Walmart Supercenter in southeast Ocala was temporarily closed last week after a health inspector cited multiple health code violations.
According to a health inspection report filed with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the restaurant, which is located at 34 Bahia Avenue, was temporarily closed on Tuesday, September 7 after an inspector found four violations.
Among the issues cited was one high priority violation for rodent activity. According to the report, the inspector found a dozen rodent droppings around the kitchen. The business was shut down and upon re-inspection the following day, the health inspector found no violations remaining.
The restaurant was permitted to reopen on Wednesday, September 8.
There are currently over one dozen Subway restaurants across the city of Ocala.
