A 51-year-old father lost his life this morning after a tragic motorcycle accident in southwest Ocala.
Ocala Police Department units responded to a motorcycle crash in the 4900 block of SW 48th Avenue at around 7 a.m. this morning.
According to an OPD press release, Jeremy Denney was driving along the road when he drifted off the roadway and struck the curb. Denney’s Harley Davidson motorcycle scraped along the curb for about 75 feet before Denney was ejected from the bike.
Denney was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries this morning. According to the report, Denney was not wearing a helmet during the accident.
Denney’s son took to social media this afternoon to honor his late father.
“Not only did I lose a father, but I lost one of my best friends. I lost the man that I looked up to most in the world. I lost a role model. I lost my superhero,” reads a social media post from Shane Denney.
