Ocklawaha woman on felony probation for drug possession arrested with cocaine

A 33-year-old Ocklawaha woman on felony probation for drug possession was arrested with cocaine after she was caught speeding in Belleview.

On Sunday, October 31, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling on SE 92nd Loop in Belleview when they noticed a Hyundai sedan traveling fifteen miles per hour over the speed limit.

A traffic stop was conducted at the 8000 block of SE 110th Street Road.

The driver of the sedan, Lindsay Michelle Wilson, told the deputy that her license had been suspended and that she was on felony probation for drug possession.

The deputy confirmed through a computer search that Wilson was currently on probation for cocaine possession, and her driver’s license was suspended on August 19.

A search of Wilson’s sedan revealed a plastic bag with burnt copper balls, and a white substance was concealed in the fuse compartment located under the steering wheel.

Wilson’s purse, which was also searched, contained the same burnt copper on the bottom of the purse along with a large amount of broken copper wires.

A field test of the copper balls, the copper in her purse, and the white substance resulted in a presumptive positive test for cocaine.

Wilson stated that the vehicle did not belong to her, and that the purse and contents of the vehicle were also not hers.

The sedan was registered to a male who told deputies that he purchased the vehicle for Wilson with the intention that she would use the vehicle to find a job. He was also told by Wilson that she would have someone else operate the vehicle due to her license being suspended.

Wilson was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail where she faces a felony charge for cocaine possession, along with misdemeanor charges for driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She is currently being held on $7,500 bond. A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
