To the Editor:
We are about to enter the 4th of July weekend made all the more special as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our founding. It is a time for cookouts, friendship, family, and fireworks.
As a retired Operating Room nurse I spent many a fourth on call. It is with this in mind that I urge all residents to exercise caution around fireworks, especially near children.
My memories are all too tragic regarding the senseless firework injuries I witnessed. So please, enjoy this special holiday and be safe out there!
