Marion County under freeze warning, Salvation Army offering shelter in north Ocala

The Salvation Army is offering shelter in north Ocala for anyone seeking refuge from the cold temperatures.

Marion County is under a freeze warning that is effective tonight through tomorrow morning, and residents are encouraged to protect themselves, plants, and pets from the cold.

The Salvation Army’s Center of Hope located at 320 NW 1st Avenue in Ocala is offering accommodations for anyone that needs shelter. Check-in time at the center is at 6:30 p.m.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office’s emergency management division will be working with The Salvation Army, Interfaith Emergency Services, the Continuum of Care group, and other community partners to ensure the safety of everyone that needs shelter during cold weather.
