Cristina’s Deli in Ocala temporarily closed after failed health inspection

Cristina’s Deli in Ocala was temporarily closed last week after an inspector found four health code violations, including two that were considered high priority.

According to a health inspection report filed by a health inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Profession Regulation, Cristina’s Deli, which is located at 9584 Maricamp Road in Ocala, was shut down on Wednesday, March 23 after a failed inspection.

Among the issues the restaurant was cited for were two high priority violations, including the presence of roach activity.

The report states that approximately 10 live roaches were found in the cabinet underneath the hand-washing sink at the front counter, and roach droppings were observed on the walls near the cabinet. Three dead roaches were also found on the kitchen floor.

The restaurant was permitted to reopen after no violations were found upon a follow-up inspection on Thursday, March 24.
