The City of Dunnellon is gearing up for the return of its popular Boomtown Days festival this weekend.

The annual festival, which celebrates the City of Dunnellon’s history, is being held on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in historic downtown Dunnellon.

Festivities will include pageants for children of all ages, a pie eating contest, cowboy shootouts in the streets, live music, antique engines and tractors, and a kids’ zone.

Throughout the festival, visitors will be able to check out a variety of food trucks and vendors along West Pennsylvania Avenue and Cedar Street in downtown Dunnellon.

A car show, open to all makes and models, will also be held during the festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no cost to participate in the car show, and entries will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. via Ned Love Avenue.

The festival is free to attend and open to the public.

There will be multiple parking areas available, including at Dunnellon Presbyterian Church and the city property across the street from the church, City Hall, Dunnellon Middle School, Dunnellon Bingo, and Ernie Mills Park.
