Oakcrest assistant principal announced as finalist for 2022 Florida Assistant Principal of the Year

Oakcrest Elementary School’s assistant principal, Sarah Dobbs, is a finalist for the 2022 Florida Assistant Principal of the Year award.

The Florida Department of Education recently announced the finalists, and Dobbs is one of the three assistant principals who will be vying for the award.

Along with Dobbs, the other finalists are Stacia Werner (assistant principal at Beverly Shores Elementary School in Lake County) and Amy Archer (assistant principal at Garden Elementary School in Sarasota County).

Dobbs is a graduate of Madison Street Academy, Fort McCoy, and Vanguard High Schools, and she joined Marion County Public Schools in 2010. She was recognized as Marion County Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2014, and she became the assistant principal at Oakcrest Elementary School in 2019.

Last November, Dobbs was recognized by MCPS as its Assistant Principal of the Year.

The winner of this year’s Florida Assistant Principal of the Year award will receive a monetary prize and will also be eligible to compete for the National Assistant Principal of the Year award from the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
