Parents, family members, teachers, and other community members who work with local youth are invited to attend an upcoming course that will focus on the topic of mental health.
On Saturday, May 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saint Leo University is hosting a Youth Mental Health First Aid course at its Ocala Education Center, which is located at 1930 SW 38th Avenue in Ocala.
The class will teach each participant how to help adolescents (ages 12-18) who are experiencing challenges related to mental health or addictions.
The class is open to the public and there is a $20 registration fee. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
