Precautionary boil water notice issued for Hunters Trace and Pine Ridge Estates communities

Marion County Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water notice for 216 residents, including businesses and homes, within the Hunters Trace and Pine Ridge Estates communities.

The notice is due to a temporary loss of pressure at the water treatment facility. Per guidelines from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), residents within the Hunters Trace and Pine Ridge Estates communities are advised to boil water intended for consumption for at least one minute until further notice.

As an alternative, bottled water may be used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or washing dishes.

Water that is used for laundry, bathing, and showering does not need to be boiled.

This precautionary advisory will be lifted once the required number of samples meet water quality levels as determined by the FDEP.
