Local firefighters responded to a residence in Ocala on Monday morning after a fire ignited inside the home’s garage.
Shortly after 3 a.m., multiple Ocala Fire Rescue units consisting of Engines 1, 4, and 6, Rescue 4, Tower 1, and Battalion Chief 11 responded to a residential structure fire in the 3400 block of SW 25th Street, according to a media release from OFR.
While crew members headed to the residence, OFR’s dispatch advised that the fire was in the garage.
OFR units arrived at the single-story residence, and the home’s occupants were standing outside. Firefighters observed a lawn mower that was on fire and the the flames were spreading inside the garage.

Engine 1’s crew members used a preconnected hose line to attack the fire while Rescue 4’s crew members conducted a primary search of the area. The flames were extinguished within four minutes of OFR’s arrival at the residence.

One resident was transported to a local hospital for treatment of an unrelated medical condition, according to OFR. There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
