Ocala Symphony Orchestra returns this month with ‘Italian Impressions’

The Ocala Symphony Orchestra will return later this month with “Italian Impressions” led by principal guest conductor Raymond Chobaz.

The performances will take place on Saturday, January 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, January 29 at 3 p.m. at the Reilly Arts Center, which is located at 500 NE 9th Street in Ocala.

During both concerts, the orchestra will take audience members on a tour of Italy with the following pieces:

  • Gioachino Rossini’s Overture to La Gazza Ladra.
  • Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra – featuring a special performance by Arnold Irchai, the Ocala Symphony Orchestra’s principal bassoonist.
  • Pietro Mascagni’s Intermezzo Cavalleria Rusticana.
  • Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome.

Tickets are on sale and range from $15 to $40. An Italian dinner add-on experience with a buffet-style menu is also available for purchase.
