The Ocala Symphony Orchestra will return later this month with “Italian Impressions” led by principal guest conductor Raymond Chobaz.
The performances will take place on Saturday, January 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, January 29 at 3 p.m. at the Reilly Arts Center, which is located at 500 NE 9th Street in Ocala.
During both concerts, the orchestra will take audience members on a tour of Italy with the following pieces:
- Gioachino Rossini’s Overture to La Gazza Ladra.
- Nino Rota’s Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra – featuring a special performance by Arnold Irchai, the Ocala Symphony Orchestra’s principal bassoonist.
- Pietro Mascagni’s Intermezzo Cavalleria Rusticana.
- Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome.
Tickets are on sale and range from $15 to $40. An Italian dinner add-on experience with a buffet-style menu is also available for purchase.
