Marion Technical College to host two community job fairs next week

Marion Technical College (MTC) will host two community job fairs next week for local welders, fabricators, and CDL drivers.

The first hiring event, a Welding Job Fair, will take place on Tuesday, February 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event is ideal for welders, fabricators, and students, and it will feature the following businesses: Crom, LLC; Dixie Metal; Environmental Composites; Fidelity Manufacturing; OFab, Inc.; and SPX Flow.

The Welding Job Fair is presented by Marion Technical College in partnership with the American Welding Society – North Florida, Mid-FL Regional Manufacturers Association, Ocala Metro Chamber of Commerce and Economic Partnership, and CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion.

MTC is also partnering with CareerSource CLM to host the CDL Community Job Fair on Wednesday, February 8, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Multiple businesses will be recruiting Class A and Class B commercial drivers, along with recent graduates, to drive in and around Marion County.

The following businesses plan on attending the CDL Community Job Fair: ABCO; Brook Ledge Horse Transportation; Custom Window Systems; Dwight Littlefield Trucking; Leopard Medical Transport; McLane Company; Schneider; and ZCO Carrier. In addition, MTC representatives will be in attendance to help those who are interested in enhancing their CDL education.

Both job fairs will be held at Marion Technical College, which is located at 1014 SW 7th Road in Ocala. There is no cost to attend either job fair and the events are open to the public. While registration is encouraged by CareerSource CLM, it is not required.

Job seekers who are interested in attending either event should bring printed copies of their resume. Appropriate attire is also required: no flip-flops or casual sandals, t-shirts, shorts, jeans with rips or holes, or anything too tight, short, revealing, or with profane language.

Candidates interested in updating their resume or sharpening their interview skills are encouraged to visit one of CareerSource CLM’s career centers for fee-free staff assistance. The career centers, which are located in Ocala (2703 NE 14th Street), Lecanto (683 S Adolph Point), and Chiefland (2175 NW 11th Drive), are open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
