MCSO warns motorists of potential visibility issues from prescribed burn near Baseline Landfill

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is warning motorists of potential visibility issues from an active prescribed burn near the Baseline Landfill in Ocala.

The Florida Office of Greenways and Trails is conducting the prescribed burn in an area to the west of the landfill. Due to its proximity to SE Baseline Road (SE 58th Avenue) and SE Maricamp Road, drivers may encounter smoke on the roadways.

Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling in the area since visibility may deteriorate quickly.

“Please exercise caution while driving,” stated the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on its Facebook page. “If you encounter dense smoke, utilize your low-beam headlights.”
