Woman rams SUV into husband’s work truck after argument

A 29-year-old Ocklawaha woman was arrested after she was accused of intentionally ramming her SUV into the side of her husband’s work truck following an argument.

On Wednesday, April 12, at approximately 9:05 a.m., a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corporal and a deputy trainee responded to a residence located in the 16900 block of SE 95th Street Road in Ocklawaha in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, they made contact with the male victim who advised that he had gotten into an argument with his wife, Lauren Brooke Collett, according to the arrest report.

The victim stated that the argument with Collett was regarding their child. After the verbal altercation, the victim advised that Collett entered her Chevrolet Suburban SUV and drove it into the passenger’s side of his Chevrolet Silverado work truck, which is owned by his employer.

In the MCSO report, the corporal noted that there were visible tire marks in the grass that were consistent with the victim’s statement. The ground underneath the truck’s tires had also been disturbed, which indicated that the vehicle was pushed sideways from the impact.

The corporal further observed that the bed of the truck and the corner of the cab were damaged as a result of the incident. In total, the truck had sustained approximately $3,000 worth of damages.

Due to the estimated cost of repairs and the intentional nature of the collision that caused the damage, Collett was arrested on Thursday, April 20, and she was transported to Marion County Jail. She is currently being held on $2,000 bond, and she is facing a felony charge for criminal mischief with property damage of $1,000 or more.

A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
