Swim classes for individuals with special needs

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department’s swimming program for individuals with special needs will return to the Hampton Aquatic Fun Center next month.

During the therapeutic recreational program, Aquability, participants will learn the basics of water safety and swimming. Registration is currently open for the following sessions:

  • Session One: June 6 through June 29.
  • Session Two: July 6 through August 1.

Both sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Hampton Aquatic Fun Center, which is located at 255 NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Ocala.

All swimmers are required to have a swim buddy provided by the guardian, and this buddy must be in the water with them at all times.

Pre-registration is required, and there is a cost of $50 per session. The classes are for ages 5 and up.
