Missing and endangered: 2 teens, child last seen at motel in Marion County

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate two teenagers and a child who were last seen at a motel in Silver Springs on Thursday, May 11.

In a media release, MCSO stated that a Take Into Custody Order was obtained by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) for 14-year-old Lashawd Janvier, 13-year-old Loveson Janvier, and 9-year-old Danylah Janvier.

MCSO deputies are concerned for the well-being of the missing teens and child because their mother, 34-year-old Demelia Gates, will not cooperate with DCF and produce the children so they can be seen.

According to MCSO, Lashawd, Loveson, and Danylah were last seen with their mother, Demelia, at the Roadway Inn located at 5751 E Silver Springs Boulevard in Silver Springs on May 11.

The sheriff’s office stated that Demelia left another child at the motel and never returned. That fourth child is now in DCF custody, and a warrant has been issued for Demelia’s arrest in connection with the unlawful desertion of a child.

If you have any information that can help locate the two teens, child, and their mother, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office asks that you call 911.
