Waste management needs to be expanded in Marion County

To the Editor:

When I first moved here, I was shocked to hear that the county doesn’t pick up everyone’s trash. Marion County needs to expand their waste management to the outskirts of Ocala.

The tax money should be there with all the new homes and new residents. Some of us taxpayers have to pay extra for horrible, unreliable, private companies to pick up our trash. These companies are scamming people by taking their money, leaving garbage to sit for weeks, and not returning calls or refunding money to people like myself who don’t have the means of dropping their garbage at the dump.

If the county would service all of their tax-paying residents, the amount of trash in the streets would decline tremendously and innocent people wouldn’t be getting robbed by these companies. It would be a huge win for all residents.
