City seeks artists for aviation-themed exhibit

The City of Ocala is currently seeking artists who specialize in two-dimensional artwork for an aviation or aerospace themed exhibition.

According to the city, the art exhibit will be on display at the Ocala International Airport, which is located at 1770 SW 60th Avenue, Suite 600.

All interested artists must submit an application, along with their resume, artist statement, and artwork images. Applications are available online.

Ocala’s “Art in City Spaces” program provides the opportunity for artists and art organizations to exhibit their artwork in public city spaces. In addition to the Ocala International Airport, the spaces available for exhibits include:

  • City Hall (first and second floor lobbies) – 110 SE Watula Avenue.
  • City Clerk’s Office (City Hall, first floor) – 110 SE Watula Avenue.
  • Recreation and Parks Administration Building (conference room) and the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center – 828 NE 8th Avenue.
  • Barbara Gaskin Washington Adult Activity Center – 210 NW 12th Avenue.
  • Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place – 1821 NW 21st Avenue.

The city’s art exhibits rotate on a six month basis, depending on the gallery space.
