Jeffery Charles Brown
December 10, 1974 – July 6, 2023 (age 48)
Jeffrey Charles Brown was born in Queens, New York on December the 10, 1974 to Betty Springs Brown and Charles Brown. As a young child, Jeff moved to Ocala, FL. to live with his aunt Loretta who he lovingly referred to as “mom” and his uncle Milo Davis.
Growing up, Jeff attended Fort King Presbyterian Church and was confirmed there in his early teens. Football became a passion early and he was a standÂout athlete at St John’s Lutheran School. That passion and skill ultimately led to a football scholarship at Presbyterian College where he met many life-long Friends.
He worked as a Medical Collection Specialist and always took pride in his work. Jeff met his wife Jackie Marshall 25 years ago at work and they raised two amazing young adults, Cameron Brown and Nia Brown.
Those that knew Jeff know that he loved “his” Florida Gators and bled orange and blue. He also loved to cook and was a pit master. His smoked brisket and ribs were perfection, and there was nothing everyone looked forward to more than his fish fries at the farm. Jeff was always at peace when visiting his childhood homestead “The Farm” where he would sit outside all day and enjoy the memories and tranquility. Jeff will certainly be remembered for his passions and skills, but more than that he will be remembered for his character. He had an amazing memory and could recall events and numbers like a computer. Long before the cellphone he was the family’s phone book. Jeff was always ready to help in any capacity and gave much more than what he had. His favorite quote was: “Always do the right thing, even if no one else is looking.” and he constantly instilled that into his children who were his everything. He was a loving spouse, caring friend, and incredibly humble and intelligent. He was an amazing father and man.
Jeff died unexpectedly on July 6, 2023, after a brief but acute illness.
He leaves to mourn his wife Jacqueline Marshall, son Cameron II Cam” Brown, daughter Nia Victoria Brown ” The Boo Boo”; sister Bernadette Brown, godmother and sister Dr. Waverlyn Peters; Uncle and Aunt, John and Bernitha Springs, special cousins Milo Davis, Sydney Douglas, Kebe Wilkerson, Kofi Springs, Shaw-nay Douglas, godsons Kevyons and Kieron Williams and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
