Marion school district hosting Hometown Hiring Career Fair on July 19

Marion County Public Schools is hosting a career fair on Wednesday, July 19 to fill hundreds of open positions for the upcoming school year.

The second annual Hometown Hiring Career Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following three locations:

  • Fort King Middle School (545 NE 17th Avenue in Ocala). This location will be the host site for career opportunities at College Park Elementary School, Forest High School, Fort King Middle School, Fort McCoy School (prekindergarten through 8th grade), Legacy Elementary School, North Marion Middle School, Oakcrest Elementary School, and Wyomina Park Elementary School.
  • Lake Weir Middle School (10220 SE Sunset Harbor Road in Summerfield). This location will be the host site for career opportunities at Belleview Elementary School, Belleview-Santos Elementary School, Emerald Shores Elementary School, Harbour View Elementary School, Lake Weir Middle School, Lake Weir High School, and Shady Hill Elementary School.
  • Marion Oaks Elementary School (280 Marion Oaks Trail in Ocala). This location will be the host site for career opportunities at Dunnellon High School, Horizon Academy at Marion Oaks, Liberty Middle School, Marion Oaks Elementary School, Romeo Elementary School, Sunrise Elementary School, and West Port High School.

According to MCPS, over 25 schools and departments plan to hire teachers, support staff, Marion Afterschool Program workers, and new team members for several departments including custodial, food service, and transportation.

During the Hometown Hiring Career Fair, school administrators, district leaders, and others will conduct interviews at all three locations. Last year, over 300 people attended the school district’s inaugural career fair, and 112 of them were hired on the spot.
