A pastry chef who works at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala came just shy of winning a baking competition hosted by the Food Network.
Yohann Le Bescond was one of the three finalists in the inaugural Summer Baking Championship, a new series that aired on Food Network earlier this summer.
Le Bescond, who works as the executive pastry chef at WEC, was edged out by Zoe Peckich in the final episode of the show. A few days after the finale aired, Le Bescond took to social media to thank those who had supported him on his journey.
“Words can’t express how thankful I am for the unwavering support and love I’ve received from friends, family and all the incredible viewers,” said Le Bescond in an Instagram post.
During the series, Le Bescond was praised by judges and fellow contestants for his exquisite creations and flavors.
“I am taking home long-life friends, happy memories and most importantly, the support of the community and my peers,” said Le Bescond.
