The owners of a popular billiards spot near downtown Ocala that closed in 2021 have opened a new nightclub in the shores that will feature Latin American, Country, Pop, and Hip-Hop music regularly.
Time Nightclub officially opened for business at 9335 SE Maricamp Road in Silver Springs Shores last Friday, August 11. Billed as the biggest nightclub in Ocala, the new venue features two floors and three bars, live DJs, and separate VIP sections.
The nightclub is looking to position itself as a venue for fans of all music genres, with themed nights for Latin American, Hip-Hop, and Country music.
Access to Time is age-restricted to guests who are 21 and older, and a dress code is strictly enforced by the venue.
The new business is owned and operated by Mohamed Abdelfattah, who previously operated Time Out Billiards at 618 South Pine Avenue. In July 2021, that bar was stripped of its alcohol permit by the Ocala City Council after city officials, including Ocala Police Chief Mike Balken, accused the facility of multiple breaches of the peace, noise complaints, and dangerous incidents over a multi-year span.
At the time, Abdelfattah suggested that his business was being unfairly targeted and that he had complied with the city, resulting in a reduction of the amount of incidents. Balken told Ocala City Council members that he would pull his detail officers if the city didn’t vote to revoke the business’s license.
“We’re out of answers. We are not in the business of serving as [Mr. Abdelfattah’s] private security,” said Balken.
In June 2023, the new nightclub contracted its own private security team. The company announced a new partnership with Citrus Executive Protection to provide a “safe and fun environment for everyone,” according to a social media post.
Time Nightclub is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. For more information about its services and specials, follow Time Nightclub on Facebook.
