Cornhole tournament in Ocala this weekend

A cornhole tournament will be held in Ocala this weekend to benefit a local nonprofit organization that provides support to veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

On Saturday, August 26, the first annual Cornhole for Warriors Tournament will take place at the Ocala Downtown Market (403 SE Osceola Avenue) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“The tournament will be a day of friendly competition, community spirit, and most importantly, a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our veterans and equine residents,” stated the event’s host, Horses 4 Warriors, in a social media post.

Registration for the tournament is currently open, and the cost is $25 per team of two people. The participating teams will compete for bragging rights and a chance to take home a set of hand-painted boards by a local artist.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Horses 4 Warriors, an Ocala-based nonprofit organization that connects veterans who are suffering from PTSD with horses that are also facing similar challenges.
