Mellow Mushroom’s newest location in downtown Ocala is now open for business.
Located at 2 W Fort King Street, the restaurant celebrated its grand opening on Monday, December 4.
Owned and operated by local restaurant entity Harddy, LLC, the Ocala location marks Mellow Mushroom’s 22nd restaurant in the state of Florida. Nestled in the historic downtown area, the newest location has its own unique style and decor, including an interior mural by Miami-based artist Ruben Ubiera and an exterior neon sign.
The nearly 4,800-square-foot restaurant offers a variety of stone-baked specialty pizzas, including the Mighty Meaty (pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, honey ham, and applewood-smoked bacon on top of Mellow red sauce and mozzarella), Veg Out (Mellow red sauce and mozzarella with spinach, green peppers, sliced mushrooms, sweet onions, black olives, and Roma tomatoes), and Holy Shiitake (olive oil and garlic base with roasted shiitake mushrooms, caramelized onions, chives, Wisconsin aged white cheddar cheese, shaved Parmesan, garlic aioli swirl, and black truffle oil), to list a few.
Custom pizzas can also be built, with options for meat-lovers, vegetarians, vegans, and other dietary-conscious diners.
In addition, Mellow Mushroom has a selection of appetizers that include wings, spinach artichoke dip, cheese bread, mushroom soup, and a trio of meatballs. The restaurant also serves a variety of salads, hoagies, smash-style burgers, and sweet treats.
The 128-seat dining area includes a full bar with 24 beer taps featuring local breweries like Infinite Ale Works, Cigar City Brewing, and Swamp Head Brewery. The restaurant also has an outdoor patio that can seat up to 28 diners.
The Mellow bar also offers a selection of made-from-scratch cocktails that include The Campfire Peach (Casamigos Blanco and Mezcal Tequilas, peach, jalapeno, and house-made agave sour), Sunset in Paradise (Bacardi superior rum, coconut, pineapple, pomegranate, and fresh sour), and the Lemon Submarine (Woodford Reserve bourbon, St. Germain elderflower liqeur, house-made sour, iced tea, rosemary, and 18.21 Earl Grey Bitters), among others.
Mellow Mushroom is open Monday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
