Ricky Burl Swiger, 74, of Belleview, Florida, passed away suddenly on December 13, 2023, at Summerfield Emergency Hospital, Summerfield, Florida.

Ricky was born on January 2, 1949, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Herbert and Waveline Swiger. He attended and graduated from Washington Irving High School and was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. Ricky was a patriot who loved his country. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he eventually met and married his beloved wife, Coral. Ricky also had an entrepreneurial spirit. Over the years, he owned and operated several sole proprietorship businesses. Ricky and Coral loved to travel together and had plans to go to the Smoky Mountains after the Holidays. He had a kind and gentle spirit and always had a smile on his face. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, reading books and was a devoted fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers. Ricky loved tinkering in the yard and always had multiple projects going to keep himself busy. He and Coral were the proud new parents to a one-year-old Australian Shepherd, Annie, whom he adored.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Coral Swiger of Belleview, FL; son, Chad Swiger and his wife, Lisa Swiger of Hudson, FL; daughter, Cindy White and her husband, Trace White of Winter Springs, FL; four grandchildren Joey Swiger, Dylan White, Taylor White and Brandon Popple; siblings Cindy Lunemann and Donna Nedley and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

His brothers, Herbert Swiger Jr. & Michael Swiger, and son, Billy Popple, preceded him in his passing.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church, Summerfield, FL, on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, at a later date.

Ricky will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his loving spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
