City hosting inaugural Brick City Bluegrass Festival this weekend

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department is gearing up for its inaugural Brick City Bluegrass Festival, which will be held at Citizens’ Circle (151 SE Osceola Avenue) on Saturday, January 20, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The all-ages, outdoor music festival will feature nationally known and local bluegrass bands, including headliner Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers.

Named “Entertainers of the Year” by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2019, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers are seen by tens of thousands of bluegrass fans each year, and they have been regular guests on the historic Grand Ole Opry since 2013.

The full event schedule is as follows:

In addition to live music and entertainment, the Brick City Bluegrass Festival will feature a variety of food trucks, including Country Boyz BBQ, The Krafty Kettle, Rollin Sliders, and Pepere Joe’s Chowder Wagon. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase.

Festival attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Coolers will not be permitted inside the event area.

Tickets currently cost $20 per person, and this price will remain in effect through Friday, January 19. On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased at the gate for $25 per person, and they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the event sells out.

Veterans and children (ages 8 and under) will be able to attend the festival for free.
