City hosting free screening of ‘Radio’ at Webb Field

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will continue its “After Dark in the Park” movie series this week with a free screening of the 2003 film Radio.

The movie will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 16 at Webb Field, which is located at 1501 W Silver Springs Boulevard.

Radio tells the story of a high school coach and the developmentally challenged African-American man he befriends. Their unique friendship ultimately transforms the conservative attitudes of a small town in South Carolina.

The movie stars Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Ed Harris, and it is rated PG for thematic elements and mild language.

During the screening on Friday, popcorn, drinks, and other refreshments will be available for purchase.

No registration is required to watch the movie. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
