Ocala massage establishment cited for offering sexual services

An Ocala massage establishment is in jeopardy of losing its license after one of its unlicensed employees allegedly offered “manual masturbation” to an undercover inspector.

Ocala Sunshine Spa, LLC, which operates Ocala Sun Spa Massage, was cited in an administrative complaint filed by the Florida Department of Health with the Board of Massage Therapy on March 13.

According to the DOH, on September 26, 2023, two department inspectors conducted an “undercover operation” at the establishment, which is located at 3423 E Silver Springs Boulevard.

During their visit, one of the inspectors entered the premises and spoke with an employee who offered to provide massage services to the inspector. The employee escorted the inspector to a massage therapy room.

According to the report, the employee then “made a hand gesture to the inspector indicating manual masturbation.”

The report notes that the employee who offered the sexual service was not “licensed as a massage therapist in the state of Florida.”

Both the establishment and its owner, Zhenping Cui, were cited in separate filings by the department.

The petition calls for the board to enter an order to either permanently revoke the establishment’s license or impose a suspension of sorts.

According to the state, the establishment has a right to request a hearing to be conducted in accordance with Florida Statutes. Any request or petition for a hearing must be received by Wednesday, April 3, according to the complaint.
