I’ve worked in Ocala for 20 years and I can’t afford to live here.

To the Editor:

I sold my home to downsize. I was faced with no option when looking for housing besides apartments that were not affordable. I did not want to own, I wanted to rent, but my income was not 3 times the rent. I was forced to buy an RV and install a ramp. Please tell me that Ocala cares about disabled people. There needs to be a change for individuals living on Social Security. I’m 49 years old, so I don’t qualify for 55 and over communities. Governor DeSantis, please address this. It’s more important than free swimming lessons. I worked in Ocala for 20 years and I can’t even obtain a place to live.
