Law enforcement authorities have identified a man and a woman who were found dead from gunshot wounds in Belleview on Sunday morning.
James Marean, 64, and Erica Brooks, 37, were identified as the victims of the weekend shooting by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
On Sunday, Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of SE 132nd Place in Belleview at approximately 8 a.m.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they located Marean and Brooks. Both individuals had passed away from gunshot injuries.
MCSO Major Crimes detectives are still investigating the shooting.
As of Sunday morning, all parties involved in the shooting had been identified and interviewed, according to MCSO. The sheriff’s office says the incident appears to be isolated.
No additional information has been released by law enforcement authorities regarding the shooting.
