Youth Job Fair at Southeastern Livestock Pavilion this week

Marion County officials are hosting a Youth Job Fair this week for individuals from 16 to 24 years old who are seeking full-time and part-time employment for permanent, summer, or temporary positions.

Marion County Public Schools and CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion will host the hiring event on Tuesday, May 7, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion Auditorium (2232 NE Jacksonville Road) in Ocala.

The following businesses have been confirmed for the upcoming job fair: Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle, Brookdale Paddock Hills, CWR Contracting, Dollar Tree/Family Dollar, Eckerd Connects Workforce Connection, Empath Hospice of Marion County, FedEx Ground, Fidelity Manufacturing, Florida Department of Corrections, Hughes Brothers Construction, Marion County Board of County Commissioners, Marion County Building Industry Association, McLane Ocala, On Top of the World, R&L Global Logistics, Sonic, Waffle House, and World Equestrian Center Ocala.

Nearly 120 job seekers attended last year’s Youth Job Fair, with many leaving the event with on-the-spot job offers, according to CareerSource CLM.

Attendees should bring printed copies of their resume and be prepared for on-the-spot job interviews. Proper dress is required and all those planning to attend the job fair should come dressed to impress: No flip-flops or casual sandals, t-shirts with profane or obscene language or images, no shorts or jeans with rips or holes, or anything that is too tight, too short, or revealing.

The event is open to residents of Marion, Citrus, and Levy Counties between the appropriate ages. There is no cost to attend the event.
