Demonstrators sought for historic festival at Fort King

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department is seeking vendors and demonstrators for the annual Festival at Fort King, which will take place later this year.

The festival is a historic-themed event set in the 1800s that focuses on local history in Ocala and Marion County, as well as a full-scale re-enactment of the events that fueled the start of the Second Seminole War.

The festival seeks to bring the local history of Ocala and Marion County to life in an engaging way for all ages, reads a press release from the City of Ocala.

Food and craft vendors, as well as historical reenactors and demonstrator applications, are currently open, and the submission deadline is Friday, Oct. 11, at 5 p.m. The festival takes place in early December.

Digital and hard-copy applications are available. For more information and to register for the event, visit the Festival at Fort King webpage.
