A 40-year-old Ocala man has been arrested on accusations that he showed pornographic videos to a young girl and attempted to pay her to watch him masturbate.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a mother contacted law enforcement and advised that a man, identified as Alexander Rodriguez-Pereira, had engaged in lewd and lascivious conduct with her daughter over a “period of time.”

The MCSO arrest report stated that the victim spoke with a case coordinator at the Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection and advised that Rodriguez-Pereira had shown her multiple pornographic videos.

The report stated that Rodriguez-Pereira allegedly first exposed the victim to pornography earlier this year when she saw him “watching people having sex on his cellphone” while he was standing in a bedroom.

Around a month later, the victim advised that Rodriguez-Pereira asked her if she “knew what sex was.” He then allegedly showed her pornographic videos of individuals masturbating and told her that “it feels so, so good,” according to the report.

The victim alleged that Rodriguez-Pereira told her that she had to “keep it a secret or else her mother would cry.”

On the evening of Wednesday, June 12, the victim advised that Rodriguez-Pereira showed her a message on his phone that allegedly stated, “For $20, would you watch me jerk off?” She stated in the interview that she told Rodriguez-Pereira “no.”

Around an hour later, the victim stated that Rodriguez-Pereira sat down next to her on her bed and asked if she was “nervous around him.” He then asked if he could “start over” with the victim, and she told him to leave her room.

At the end of the interview, the victim stated that Rodriguez-Pereira did not touch her inappropriately, though she described him as a “pedophile” because of “all the stuff he’s done,” according to the report.

An MCSO corporal made contact with Rodriguez-Pereira in reference to the victim’s allegations. After being read his Miranda rights, Rodriguez-Pereira remained silent and refused to discuss the incident.

Rodriguez-Pereira was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is being charged with showing obscene material to a minor (two counts) and attempted human trafficking for commercial sexual activity.

The corporal noted in the report that the human trafficking charge is “on account that (Rodriguez-Pereira) offered the victim money to be subjected to a sexually explicit performance intended to arouse or satisfy sexual desires or appeal to the prurient interest.”

Rodriguez-Pereira is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, according to jail records.
