A cheeseburger slider chain that is developing two new locations in Ocala has unveiled its first iconic structure in the area.
Smalls Sliders celebrated the delivery of its “Can Drop” at its new location at 3394 SW College Road in Ocala last week.
During a ceremony on July 11, representatives from the company recognized local non-profit Kut Different, Inc., which is a male mentorship program operated by Jamie Gilmore and Eddie Rocker.
The business has been making brisk progress on its first location in Ocala, which is situated at the Shoppes at Paddock Park, near the Paddock Mall.
Earlier this year, the chain announced a multi-franchise agreement with DPC Smalls Investments, a company owned by local businessman Doug Cone. Cone, who founded Cone Distributing in Ocala in 1984, has signed on to open multiple franchises in Ocala, as well as additional possible locations in Jacksonville, Tallahassee, St. Augustine, Lake City, and Orange Park.
Cone previously signed a “5-can deal” in the Ocala and Gainesville market, referring to the physical shipping containers that comprise each Smalls Sliders location. The 750-square-foot containers are painted the color “Smorange,” which is trademarked by the company.
Smalls Sliders serves up burgers, fries, and shakes, with all items made-to-order using fresh ingredients.
Sliders may be purchased in combination with other items or individually.
