A golf retail chain with over 100 locations across the United States is currently working on its first establishment in Ocala.
Golf Galaxy is renovating a space at 2701 SW College Road, Suite 401, in Gaitway Plaza. The business is taking over a location that was formerly occupied by Overstock Furniture & Mattress and Bed Bath and Beyond.
Ocala-News.com first announced that Golf Galaxy was taking over the space in March.
The new retail shop will sell golf equipment, apparel, and accessories for golfers of all skill levels.
In addition to accessories, Golf Galaxy locations offer fittings, club repair, and golf lessons, among other services.
Golf Galaxy currently operates locations across 35 states, including eight in Florida. Those establishments are located in Orlando, Clearwater, Lutz, and Sarasota, as well as south Florida.
Dick’s Sporting Goods currently owns Golf Galaxy. There is currently one Dick’s Sporting Goods location in Ocala at 4414 SW College Rd, Suite 1800 in the Market Street At Heath Brook.
Multiple national retailers have opened in the area surrounding Gaitway Plaza over the past several years, including Mission Inn BBQ, Tropical Smoothie Café, and Nothing Bundt Cakes, which opened in April.
