The city of Ocala will host a Tag Team Flag Football season for children with disabilities beginning this week.
The new series will begin Saturday, September 7, and will take place every Saturday through September 28. A parent meeting will be held on Thursday, September 5, at 6 p.m. at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place (1821 NW 21st Ave.). Practice will be Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and games will be Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Tag Team Flag Football season is designed for children ages 5 and up with disabilities. It will offer those who attend a chance to learn the basics of football, to promote skill development and cooperation, and to meet new friends.
All participants, if needed, will be paired with a buddy so that everyone is able to play. Practice will take place each Monday.
The cost to participate is $20 per child, according to the city of Ocala.
