The owners of a 39-acre site in south Marion County are seeking approval of a master plan for a new development that will feature nearly 200,000-square-feet of self-storage space, 35,000-square-feet of general retail space, 8,000-square-feet of office space, and 78 single-family dwellings.
On Tuesday, 9494 Summerfield, LLC will request master plan approval from the Marion County Board of County Commissioners for its new planned united development, 9494 Summerfield.
The 39.27-acre property is located at 9494 SE Hwy 42 in Summerfield. The master plan calls for the development of 194,285-square-feet of self-storage space, 35,000-square-feet of general retail space, and a community with 78 single-family dwellings.
The residential portion will feature several amenities, including a community center with a pool, pickleball court, shuffleboard court, and an open space park.
County records show that the property was rezoned to planned united development (PUD) in November 2022.
The master plan shows that the community would be built in at least five phases, with the first several phases consisting of construction of the commercial structures and the fifth phase consisting of construction of the homes.
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners regularly meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m. at the McPherson Governmental Complex (601 SE 25th Avenue, Ocala).
