Photos show the extent of damage in Marion County caused by Hurricane Milton.
Ocala-News.com has received dozens of photos from residents illustrating the damage caused in Marion County by Hurricane Milton, which left a wake of downed trees on power lines, fences, homes, and roadways.
Hurricane Milton passed through the state of Florida on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Locally, the storm created heavy winds and rainfall, with early reports suggesting various parts of Marion County received more than 5 inches of rainfall.
A rainfall map from the National Weather Service shows that nearly 5 inches of rainfall has fallen across most of the county in the past 24 hours alone.
As of 11 a.m., at least 65,000 residents are still without power across Marion County.
Readers in Belleview, Dunnellon, Ocala, and other parts of Marion County have shared photos with Ocala-News.com as they survey the extent of the damage in their communities.
