Utility crews have been working through the past two nights to restore power to Marion County residents. As of Friday morning, at least 31,000 local residents are still without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

The latest outage maps for the four major utility providers that serve Marion County show at least 31,000 customs still without power as of 7:30 a.m.

According to the outage maps, Duke Energy currently has 21,000 customers in the area without power, while SECO is trying to restore power to 7,718 customers.

Clay Electric currently has 1,158 customers without power, and Ocala Electric Utility has under 800 customers left for which to restore power.

A little over 24 hours ago, over 70,000 residents were left without power as a result of Hurricane Milton. Utility crews worked through the night to restore power to tens of thousands of individuals. At 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, there were around 50,000 residents without power.

“Our dedicated crews worked tirelessly through the night to restore power across our community,” reads a statement from OEU posted to social media this morning.

To report damage to the Marion County Property Appraiser, file a report online, or call 352-368-8300. Most Marion County government services, including the property appraiser’s office, will reopen on Friday.
