Northbound lanes along a stretch of S Pine Avenue in Ocala have been shut down this morning as crews clear the scene of a crash that took place just after 3 a.m.
As of 6 a.m., the northbound lanes on S Pine Avenue, from 31st Street to SE 24th Street, were blocked due to a crash.
The Ocala Police Department is advising motorists to expect delays and to “consider taking alternative routes to avoid the area.”
“Drivers heading north will need to turn east or west at the SW 32nd Street/SE 31st Street intersection,” reads the statement from OPD.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the accident took place at around 3:06 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 27/Blitchton Road and Emmett Avenue.
No additional details were provided regarding how many vehicles were involved or the extent of injuries.
