A Pizza Hut in Ocala was forced to temporarily close its location last week after the establishment failed a health inspection.

The Pizza Hut located at 2377 SW College Road in Ocala was forced to temporarily close on Monday, November 4, after failing a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

According to the inspector’s report, the business was cited for four violations, including one considered “high priority.”

The high priority violation was that the spray hose on the dish sink was “lower than the flood rim of the sink.”

The business also received an intermediate violation for not having proof of required, state-approved employee training.

One of the basic violations was that, at the time of the inspection, none of the facility’s bathrooms were available for public use. The men’s restroom was out of order due to a “toilet backup” and there was “no key available for the women’s restroom,” according to the report.

The report notes that during the inspection, a customer asked to use the men’s restroom and was permitted. Despite being advised by an employee that the toilet backed up, the toilet was tested and performed normally. Additionally, the key for the women’s restroom was with another manager at the time of the inspection, according to the report.

The next inspection took place on Wednesday, November 6, according to records obtained through the FDBPR. During that inspection, no violations were found.
