A woman has claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket that she purchased at a gas station in Alachua County.

Carolyn Eagle, of Gainesville, claimed the $1 million prize from the GOLD RUSH LIMITED scratch-off game at the Florida Lottery’s Gainesville District Office.

Eagle chose to receive her winnings as a lump-sum payment of $795,000.

Launched in September 2021, the $20 GOLD RUSH LIMITED scratch-off game features 32 top prizes of $5 million and 100 prizes of $1 million. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.65, according to lottery officials.

Eagle, who won one of the lesser prizes, purchased her winning ticket from the BP gas station located at 6550 SW Archer Road in Gainesville. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

Last month, the Florida Lottery announced that an Ocala man won $1 million from a scratch-off ticket purchased at a local Publix.

A Levy County resident also recently won a $2 million prize from the FLORIDA 100X THE CASH scratch-off game.
