To the Editor:

The over-building of houses is eating up all the land, forest, and peace, and is displacing native animals. The road on SW Hwy 484, south of I-75, are so overwhelmed with traffic. It takes me about 30 minutes to reach the highway in either direction, especially in the morning.

Home builders do not care about building quality homes. Instead, small houses are built for one or maybe two people. They are not family-friendly.

They will build, on a large lot, a small house, and in my experience, will do sloppy work in rushing to complete the build. They will promise particular upgrades that they never intended to bring, and after they are built, they have to address several repair issues.

When is a pause on continued building going to happen?

I know we are growing, but it is getting out of control and most people I have spoken with agree: We are losing our farms, long time families, and animals, which I so much enjoyed seeing through my travel in Ocala.

Can we put a pause on all this building?
