A new ice cream shop for dogs has opened its doors in the southern part of Marion County.
Salty Paws Ocala officially opened its ice cream bar and bakery at 10473 S U.S. Hwy 441 in Belleview on December 7.
The new business is owned and operated by Leigh and Steven Jacob, who began selling products under their new Salty Paws brand over the summer.
Now, the Jacobs have their first brick-and-mortar location, where they offer a variety of treats and toys for dogs.
That includes the shop’s dog-friendly ice creams, which come in a variety of flavors and can be topped with different toppings.
In addition to ice cream, Salty Paws also sells cookies, bones, and toys, including part of the Warrior K9 Hero collection from HuggleHounds.
The business will host a grand opening celebration on December 21.
Salty Paws is open Monday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
