A portion of Interstate 75 in Marion County will experience rotating lane closures for the next couple of nights as construction crews work to install rumble strips.

The closures will be in effect on northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 in Marion County, from State Road 200 to the Marion County line.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the closures will go into effect beginning Wednesday, January 15, at 8 p.m.

They will be in effect each night through 7 a.m. on Friday, January 17.

The work is part of project 443170-1, which calls for the resurfacing of I-75 throughout Marion County.

In addition to the resurfacing, the project also calls for improvements to safety and traffic flow, in addition to the reconstruction of existing median crossovers, guardrails, and drainage.

According to FDOT, the project is estimated to cost $28.4 million and should be completed by this Spring.
