Traffic is backed up on part of Interstate 75 in Marion County this evening and police have reportedly shut down an off-ramp and blocked a shoulder while they investigate an incident.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, police activity was reported at the ramp to Exit 352/State Road 40 in Marion County.
The ramp has been shut down temporarily as of 5 p.m., according to FDOT.
Although no details are provided as to what police are investigating, witnesses said they saw over a half dozen units responding just before 5 p.m. today.

In addition to the slowdowns being reported around the exit ramp, a crash was reported just after 4 p.m. on the ramp to Exit 354/U.S. Hwy 27 in Ocala.
Cameras on the highway managed by FDOT show backups around various stretches of the northbound lanes stretching back to mile marker 340.
It is unclear if the backups are related to the closures.
