A franchise that specializes in New York style bagels has announced plans to build its first location in Ocala.

Jeff’s Bagel Run announced last week that it will open 13 new locations across Florida, including its first store in Ocala.

According to a press statement from the company, Rob and Teresa Shuffield are the new franchise’s owners. An address for the new Ocala location has not yet been announced.

The Shuffields, who have been in the food franchise industry for over twenty years, say they were immediate fans of Jeff’s Bagel Run.

“When a friend introduced me to Jeff’s Bagel Run, I instantly knew this was something special. The quality of the product, the brand’s vision, and the sense of community it fosters made it clear that I wanted to be part of this exciting growth,” said Mr. Shuffield.

Along with the location in Ocala, the Shuffields have also agreed to open locations in The Villages, Gainesville, Lakeland, and the Brandon/Riverview region.

After perfecting the recipe and selling their products at farmers’ markets, the Pereras opened their first Jeff’s Bagel Run location in Ocoee in 2021.

Less than a year later, the group opened its second location in College Park, which is a neighborhood located just outside of downtown Orlando.

Now, the company has approximately 83 stores open or in various stages of development.
