A 32-year-old Marion County woman was arrested and charged with aggravated battery after allegedly throwing a steak knife at her domestic partner during an argument inside their home.
On Saturday, April 26, Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the incident location after receiving reports of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they made contact with a male victim who advised that he had gotten into an argument with his domestic partner, Amber Grace Puckett, according to the arrest report.
The victim stated that the verbal altercation was due to the victim wanting to spend time with Puckett. As the argument escalated, the victim alleged that Puckett threw a steak knife at him, striking the back of his head.
In the report, a deputy noted that there was a “fresh incision in the middle of the victim’s head,” and “dried blood [was] running down the side of his neck.”
While at the residence, deputies located Puckett and interviewed her. Puckett claimed that she wanted the victim to leave during the incident because she was “scared,” according to the report.
Puckett further alleged that the victim had “wrapped his fingers” around her neck, though she advised that no pressure was applied to her neck. She allegedly told deputies that she picked up an unknown item and threw it during the altercation, though she claimed that she was unsure if that item had struck the victim.
The report said that Puckett did not have any visible injuries.
Puckett was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail, where she is currently being held on a $2,500 bond. She is being charged with aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon.
On Tuesday, May 27, Puckett is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
