A new, family-owned butchery that sells Wagyu beef and other meats is taking over a space in downtown Ocala that was formerly occupied by Molly Maguire’s.
RHN Wagyu Meat Market will celebrate its grand opening at 17 SW 1st Avenue in downtown Ocala on June 28. The business replaces Molly Maguire’s, which operated at the space for nearly a decade before closing in December 2023.
The new business is owned by Ryan Strong, Harley Phillip Jessmer, and Nicholas Sovercool, who comprise the “R,” “H,” and “N” in the company’s name, respectively.
All three owner/operators are first-generation ranchers who, along with their families, have been raising Wagyu beef since October 2020.
Strong is a Lake County native who now lives in Center Hill and owns North Lake Electric, where Sovercool serves as Financial Director and Treasurer. Jessmer is a Sumter County native with over 20 years of experience in the federal prison system.
Over the past several years, the three men and their families have grown their brand throughout the United States, selling online to customers across 48 states.
“Wagyu require time, attention, and quality nutrition to reach their full potential, and we are dedicated to ensuring that our herd receives the very best. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our meticulous approach to breeding, feeding, and overall animal welfare,” reads a statement from the company’s website.
The meat market will offer a wide variety of cuts, special beef bundles, briskets, ribs, and dozens of other products, including beef tallow and beef bone broth.
In addition to its premium beef cuts, the business will also sell pork, chicken, seafood, cured meats, cheeses, and other products.
During its grand opening, RHN Wagyu Meat Market will offer free samples and giveaways and will have multiple local vendors on hand.
Outside of the website and new market opening in Ocala, RHN Wagyu operates a warehouse along U.S. Highway 301 in Sumterville. That space is open for pickups Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
